Moje kavárnička: Zima (Coffee Rush: Winter) transforms your favourite café into a cosy spot full of warming drinks, where speedy service and clever planning are key.

Snow is falling outside the windows, guests are coming in for a cup of something hot, and your little café will be filled with new orders in no time. My Little Café: Winter brings the familiar gameplay in a new winter guise, offering new recipes, a more varied game board and further opportunities to become the very best barista.

Moje kavárnička: Zima is designed for anyone who enjoys fast-paced family board games with simple rules but plenty of scope for planning. The game is suitable for 2–4 players, the recommended age is 8 years and over, and you should set aside approximately 30 minutes per game. Thanks to its straightforward rules, even less experienced players will quickly get the hang of it, whilst the variable set-up offers plenty of challenges even to those who are already familiar with the original My Little Café. It works brilliantly as a family game or as a relaxing game with friends, where effective planning, careful management of ingredients and the ability to handle an ever-increasing number of orders are key.

During the winter months, your little café becomes a haven for chilled-to-the-bone guests who come in for hot chocolate, punch, mulled wine or other winter specialities. You must prepare each order using exactly the right ingredients, which you collect by moving around the modular board. However, simply collecting ingredients isn’t enough. You must carefully plan the order of your moves, distribute the ingredients correctly into individual cups, and decide which orders to fulfil as soon as possible and which can wait a little longer.

Every turn presents several interesting decisions. Your character can move around the game board, collect ingredients and use biscuit tokens to make longer moves. You then complete the prepared drinks exactly according to the recipes on the order cards. The better you can plan your individual steps, the faster you’ll fulfil customers’ wishes and collect victory points. However, if you leave orders waiting too long, they will start to pile up and may cost you valuable points in the final scoring.

Upgrades to your café also play a major role. During the game, you can gradually unlock new abilities that change the way you move or increase the number of ingredients you collect. What’s more, the Winter Edition features a modular game board, variable ingredient layouts and new recommended combinations of upgrades, so every game offers a slightly different challenge. As a result, the game retains a high level of replayability and never feels repetitive, even after many games have been played.

Moje kavárnička: Zima is a standalone edition of the highly successful game Coffee Rush, which retains the tried-and-tested gameplay principles whilst adding a host of new features. At first glance, it captivates with its winter atmosphere, new recipes and a redesigned modular ingredients board, which significantly increases the variability of each game. Compared to the original game, you’ll also find more upgrades, a revised end-game scoring system and additional set-up variations, which experienced players in particular will appreciate.

If you already own the localised expansion Moje kavárnička: Sladké potěšení, you can use it with the winter edition without any issues. The only difference is the different card backs, which correspond to the artwork of each edition. However, this has no effect on the gameplay or how the game functions, so you can also spice up your winter drinks menu with new recipes from this expansion.
